San Antonio, TX (June 12, 2018) – The San Antonio Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in Alamo Plaza June 21st – 25th, and what party isn’t complete without a CAKE? For the first time, Ripley’s San Antonio will be hosting an Oddest Cake Contest with the aid of Cynthia DeLa Fuente, Chef Instructor at St. Philip’s College, part of the Alamo Colleges.
Ripley’s opened in 1988, and in 2008 expanded into the building next door to increase the footprint and make room for additional attractions. Today, Ripley’s San Antonio has a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, Louis Tussaud’s WaxWorks, 4D Moving Theater, and a Cargo Hold Gift Shop.

ODDEST CAKE CONTEST
What
Two groups will be competing for the title of Oddest Cake: Students & Professionals. Cakes will be judged on creativity, originality, presentation, and must be 100% edible.
Prizes
There will be a first and second place winner for each category with substantial prize money on the line:
- 1st Place: $1,000
- 2nd Place: $400
Each participant will also receive a six-pack of tickets to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium, Louis Tussaud’s WaxWorks, and 4D Moving Theater – a $195 value.
When & Where
Judging will take place at the Louis Tussaud’s Wax Works at 301 Alamo Plaza at 11:30 am on June 21st. Cupcakes will be provided by Nadler’s Bakery & Deli and served during judging.
Along with an “Odd Cake,” each participant must bake a complimentary sheet cake or cupcakes. The confections will be served during the birthday celebration on Friday and Saturday, June 22nd and 23rd where Ripley’s will be having free live performances by Red Clown and Friends in the lobby at 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, and 3 pm.
The winning cakes will be on display for the next week in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium.
