Ripley’s St. Augustine to attempt record-setting ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Public can be a part of record attempt THIS SATURDAY
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (August 18, 2014)
Guinness World Records® has confirmed that this Saturday’s giant ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, held by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! St. Augustine Odditorium and Ripley’s Red Trains, will be a Guinness World Records Official Attempt.
The record attempt will be for The Most People Pouring Ice Water Over their Heads. Ripley’s needs at least 250 people successfully participating on Saturday to set the new Guinness World Records title.
People are encouraged to sign up in advance at: www.ripleys.com/staugustine/events
The event starts at 8:30 am in the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! parking lot, located at 19 San Marco Ave. Parking will be available in any of the nearby garages or lots. The event should be over by 9:15 am.
Participants need to bring:
- Their own bucket; Ripley’s will supply water and ice
- $5 entry fee; all of which will be donated to the ALS Foundation
- A photo ID for adults
A representative from the Florida Chapter of the ALS Association will also be attending the event.
