Ocean City, MD (June 12, 2017) – Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is proud to announce that 7th grade student Dy’Asia Johnson and 8th grade student Josh Midley, both from Stephen Decatur Middle School, are the May winners of the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Incredible Kid Award.
Dy’Asia was chosen by a team of teachers for being a consistently hard worker, kind to all of her classmates and always working well with others. Josh earned the award for always being
friendly, helpful, working hard and being “a wonderful student to have at SDMS!” Both Dy’Asia and Josh received an Incredible Kid certificate and family passes to Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Ocean City has been working with area schools to award students who have excelled in many different areas. The Incredible Kid award began in April and will continue into the new school year starting in September.
Ripley’s launched the Incredible Kid Award to bring awareness to children in elementary through high school about the importance of working hard, respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, caring, amazing acts of kindness, bringing up grades, and citizenship. Each month teachers from the area schools send in their nominations and explain what makes those students stand out. General Manager Brandon Ely and Group Sales Manager Audra Ely read every nominee and choose a winner from each grade at each school. Every nominee submitted will receive an Incredible Kid Nominee Award certificate and a free ticket to visit Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Ocean City. The winner also receives an Incredible Kid Award certificate and a free pass for their family.
